Stay Away from Indoctrination and Dogma

"As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;" (Ephesians 4:14 NASB).

The Clean and the Unclean Need a Certain Type of Washing

Wow! Wow! Wow! I am amazed each time I read the Holy Bible!

John 13:1-11 (NIV)

Jesus Washes His Disciples’ Feet

13 It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

2 The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. 3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”

7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”

Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”

9 “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”

10 Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.” 11 For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.

Take a look back at verse 2 of John 13:1-11, and identify who prompted Judas to betray Jesus. This is the spiritual war that has gone on before the creation of the world... Satan, "The Father of All Lies," has continuously throughout the ages prompted Celestial and human beings to betray the Lord.

The devil does Not trump God! Last week, I wrote reminding people that the Lord will always present a way out of temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13).

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)
13 No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Footnotes:
1 Corinthians 10:13 The Greek for temptation and tempted can also mean testing and tested.
1 Corinthians 10:13 The Greek for temptation and tempted can also mean testing and tested.

Therefore, let's look at this issue of; The Clean and the Unclean Needing a Certain Type of Washing.

In the case of Judas in the above Scripture, Jesus knew that Judas had already made his decision to abandon the faith. What Satan had tried to use to keep the children of God scattered and apart from the Lord, actually brought the Jews and scattered children of God together.

John 11:45-55(NIV)

The Plot to Kill Jesus

45 Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him. 46 But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. 47 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin.

“What are we accomplishing?” they asked. “Here is this man performing many signs. 48 If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our temple and our nation.”

49 Then one of them, named Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, spoke up, “You know nothing at all! 50 You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish.”

51 He did not say this on his own, but as high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation, 52 and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one. 53 So from that day on they plotted to take his life.

54 Therefore Jesus no longer moved about publicly among the people of Judea. Instead he withdrew to a region near the wilderness, to a village called Ephraim, where he stayed with his disciples.

55 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, many went up from the country to Jerusalem for their ceremonial cleansing before the Passover.

GOD WAS IN CHARGE OF THE PLOT TO KILL HIS ONLY SON, JESUS, TO CLEAN AND REDEEM MANKIND

NOTE VERSE 51 ABOVE
"He [Caiaphas] did not say this on his own, but as high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation, 52 and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one."

It is clear by God's Word in the Holy Scriptures, that the Jews did not kill Jesus...

Rather God was in charge of the Plot and Play in His-Story to sacrifice His Only Son to cleanse and redeem His children!

In Jesus washing the feet of His apostles, we see the ceremonial cleansing before the Passover. Jesus explained to Peter (who did not understand why Jesus wanted to wash his feet), why there was a need for Peter to be cleansed by Jesus and what this type of cleansing meant for believers.

John 13:6-10 (NIV)

6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”

7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”

Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”

9 “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”

10 Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.”

Have you been cleaned by Jesus?

Are you humbly and symbolically washing the feet of other believers and non-believers by the way you take part in your church ministry---and Mission in the world?

Would you like to be cleaned by Jesus?

If you have not formally accepted Jesus Christ, please accept the Gift of Salvation by saying this short prayer:  "Dear Jesus, I repent of my sins and the original sin of mankind, please come into my heart and change me to trust in you and build my personal relationship with you by studying your word and applying it to my life to the best of my ability. Thank you for dying on the cross for the remission of sin. Thank you for conquering death with your resurrection. I accept you Jesus as my Lord and Savior, please lead me and guide me. Amen!"

If you have said that short prayer, I welcome you to the True Body of Christ (not a sect, Protestant or Catholic denomination or Eastern religion).

Please get into a Bible-based church, where the Word of God is taught unadulterated and reject the rituals, religious lies and Tradition(s) and hedonism of men and women.

Godspeed, love and Truth,

Brother David Johnson, XU
