Stay Away from Indoctrination and Dogma

"As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;" (Ephesians 4:14 NASB).

God Can Transform Prostitutes and Use Imperfect People!

This week, I am reading the Gospel of Matthew again. It is amazing to read Matthew chapter one, and see the revelation that God used imperfect people to bring about His Master Plan to introduce His perfect Son to the World as the Savior of all mankind. Reading Matthew 1, much of the history that I have learned over the years came alive more to me as the Living Word of God.

One of the greatest stories in the Holy Bible about marriage, widows and remarriage is the book of Ruth. The story of Naomi and Ruth, and their struggle to survive without husbands is remarkable. Ruth meets Boaz, who becomes a foreshadow of Jesus Christ as the savior-like figure of not only Ruth, he also takes in Naomi and provides for the entire family.

On the other hand, Boaz' mother was Rahab, the prostitute, who was redeemed for her faith and later married Salmon. Matthew chapter One is a good example how the Lord will forgive us, and can cleanse us all of sexual sin and all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9), and restore us to right relations (Ezekiel 36:25-27).

Hebrews 11:31 (NLT)

31 It was by faith that Rahab the prostitute was not destroyed with the people in her city who refused to obey God. For she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.

Matthew 1:1-5 (NLT)

The Ancestors of Jesus the Messiah

1 This is a record of the ancestors of Jesus the Messiah, a descendant of David and of Abraham[a]:

2 Abraham was the father of Isaac.
Isaac was the father of Jacob.
Jacob was the father of Judah and his brothers.
3 Judah was the father of Perez and Zerah (whose mother was Tamar).
Perez was the father of Hezron.
Hezron was the father of Ram.[b]
4 Ram was the father of Amminadab.
Amminadab was the father of Nahshon.
Nahshon was the father of Salmon.
5 Salmon was the father of Boaz (whose mother was Rahab).
Boaz was the father of Obed (whose mother was Ruth).
Obed was the father of Jesse.

1:1 Greek Jesus the Messiah, Son of David and son of Abraham.
1:3 Greek Aram, a variant spelling of Ram; also in 1:4. See 1 Chr 2:9-10.

Last week's Blog on The God Press™ dealt with the tough subject of the LGBT Movement and activism of many "Christian pastors" for the inclusion of same-sex marriage ceremonies and acceptance of LGBT religious leaders in Christ's universal church.

The Fellowship of Reconciliation, an inter-faith peace organization, publishes a handbook titled, "Homosexuality and the Bible." In the handbook by Walter Wink, he writes on page 13, "When the Bible mentions homosexual behavior at all, it clearly condemns it. I freely grant that. The issue is precisely whether that Biblical judgment is correct."

The handbook, Homosexuality and the Bible, makes a lot of arguments for homosexuality on the grounds that Jesus supposedly never taught about homosexualityand falsely teaches people that the Holy Bible is not the Divine Word of God.

You have read my testimony and how I was plagued for years by mental illness, sexual sin and depravity masked as a liberal Bohemian lifestyle...I was actually a delusional hedonist. Now, I am virtually a Spiritual Eunuch.

Matthew 19:10-12 (NLT)

10 Jesus’ disciples then said to him,
“If this is the case, it is better not to marry!”

11 “Not everyone can accept this statement,” Jesus said. “Only those whom God helps. 12 Some are born as eunuchs, some have been made eunuchs by others, and some choose not to marry[a] for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. Let anyone accept this who can.”

19:12 Greek and some make themselves eunuchs.

Nevertheless, I am not perfect, like the Apostle Paul, I too sometimes suffer in my flesh with lust (2 Corinthians 12). Yet, Romans 7:15-25, reminds me that Jesus is the answer to the sin that lives within the members of my body that tempt me to do what I do not want to do. I have hope and faith like Rahab the prostitute, that the Lord is still working on me, and may one day restore me to a loving, and mutually edifying and gratiftying second marriage after my three daughters are adults. But if I am to be a Spiritual Eunuch, "watchman" and messenger (Ezekiel 33) for the sake of the Kingdom until the day I die, "As for me and my house, I will serve the Lord" (Joshua 24:15).

You see my friends, I have already enjoyed being married for 13 years and living a life of luxury and travel, driving Porsche cars at top speeds on the cliffs of Portugal, and on the top of the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course Summit in Vail, Colorado on ice and snow, and at top speeds on the Miller Motorsports Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have drank every premium wine and spirit, stayed in the best boutique hotels, eaten the most opulent and exotic foods, basked in the sublime Spas of Canyon Ranch and The Sky Lodge in Park City, gambled and won in Vegas---and slept with models (all in my former life). However, it was Not God that blessed me with these carnal pleasures and was Satan who gave me these things as temptations and earthly payment for my soul.

The worst part about my 13 year marriage is that my three young daughters and teenage stepson suffered emotional and mental neglect from their father. My lifestyle was the worst example for children, no matter the many vacations and extravagant possessions they enjoyed.

Everywhere you turn lately, the masses are promoting same-sex marriage and LGBT rights as if this activism is similar to the Civil Rights movement of the 60s. However, the LGBT movement is only introducing more demoralization to our society and adulteration of Christ's church and Word.

The Fellowship of Reconciliation falsely teaches in its handbook, Homosexuality and the Bible, that Jesus supposedly did not teach on marriage. But please read Matthew 19:3-9, where Christ clarifies marriage is between a male and female. And, please let me introduce you to a little secret about the Rapture of Christ's church as foretold in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15---As it relates to Jesus' Words about marriage:

Matthew 22:28-30 (NLT)

28 So tell us, whose wife will she be in the resurrection? For all seven were married to her.”

29 Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God. 30 For when the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage. In this respect they will be like the angels in heaven.

God's family is made up of imperfect people, and you do not have to be perfect to teach the Truth of God's Word, the Holy Bible. Just make sure that you are walking the walk of following Jesus, and that your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the false religious teachers.

Matthew 5:10-20 (NLT)

10 God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

11 “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. 12 Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.

Teaching about Salt and Light

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.

14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Teaching about the Law

17 “Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. 18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved. 19 So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

20 “But I warn you—unless your righteousness is better than the righteousness of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven!

Jesus royal lineage on earth began with King David...Matthew 1:6 informs us that Jesse was the father of King David. But you might think how can that be, because King David committed adultery with Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah.

2 Samuel 11:2-5 (NLT)

2 Late one afternoon, after his midday rest, David got out of bed and was walking on the roof of the palace. As he looked out over the city, he noticed a woman of unusual beauty taking a bath. 3 He sent someone to find out who she was, and he was told, “She is Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite.” 4 Then David sent messengers to get her; and when she came to the palace, he slept with her. She had just completed the purification rites after having her menstrual period. Then she returned home. 5 Later, when Bathsheba discovered that she was pregnant, she sent David a message, saying, “I’m pregnant.”

King David tried to trick Uriah into going home to sleep with his wife, so that Uriah would think that the baby was his when the child was born (2 Samuel 11:6-12). When Uriah did not go have sex with his wife, King David sent Uriah deliberately to the front line of battle to be killed!!!

2 Samuel 11:14-15 (NLT)

David Arranges for Uriah’s Death

14 So the next morning David wrote a letter to Joab and gave it to Uriah to deliver. 15 The letter instructed Joab, “Station Uriah on the front lines where the battle is fiercest. Then pull back so that he will be killed.”

God sends messengers to people to rebuke sin in the Lord's name

As a result of King David's sin of adultery and murder, God sent Nathan the prophet to rebuke David (2 Samuel 12).

2 Samuel 12:13-14 (NLT)

David Confesses His Guilt

13 Then David confessed to Nathan,
“I have sinned against the Lord.”

Nathan replied, “Yes, but the Lord has forgiven you, and you won’t die for this sin. 14 Nevertheless, because you have shown utter contempt for the word of the Lord by doing this, your child will die."

The Lord eventually blessed King David and Bathsheba with another son (2 Samuel 12:24-25). And the lesson of these Biblical accounts is that God can use imperfect people to rebuke sin in His name to help restore people who have contempt for His Word, the Holy Bible.

Don't let the Fellowship of Reconciliation mislead you to believe that the Holy Bible is not the Divine Word of GodJesus Christ is God's Living Word (John 1:1; John 1:14; Revelation 19:13), and His Words have been transcribed by the writers of the Holy Bible.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

If you have not formally accepted Jesus Christ, please accept the Gift of Salvation by saying this short prayer:  "Dear Jesus, I repent of my sins and the original sin of mankind, please come into my heart and change me to trust in you and build my personal relationship with you by studying your word and applying it to my life to the best of my ability. Thank you for dying on the cross for the remission of sin. Thank you for conquering death with your resurrection. I accept you Jesus as my Lord and Savior, please lead me and guide me. Amen!"

If you have said that short prayer, I welcome you to the True Body of Christ (not a sect, Protestant, Anglican or Catholic religion or denomination). Please get into a Bible-based church, where the Word of God is taught unadulterated and reject the rituals, religious lies and Tradition(s) and hedonism of men and women.

Godspeed, love and Truth,

Brother David Johnson, XU
